Stainless Steel Wire Grips & Clamps

Why Use 316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope Clamp or Grips?

If your cables and wires regularly need to travel through rough environments, you’ll need to make sure you’re using appropriate grips. Stainless steel wire rope grips protect your wires and prevent them from becoming damaged as you pull them, but they also keep you protected from abrasion during your work.

Keep your work efficient and make it safer by investing in stainless steel wire grips for use throughout your site. A quality steel wire rope clamp will go a long way toward preventing injuries among your employees.

Stainless Steel Wire Grips vs Galvanised Metal: Which Kind is Right for You?

Buying steel wire rope grips is easiest when you can find a source with reliable items in numerous sizes. Steel wire varies in thickness from one site to the next, and a useful grip must be properly sized to the kind of wire you’re using. Consider the materials you want your grips to be made from, too: 316 grade stainless steel will last longer and offer greater reliability to a wire rope clamp than 304 grade steel, which lacks the same corrosion-resistant properties.

316 grade stainless steel wire rope grips are ideal for use in many industries, including the following:

  • The food and beverage industry
  • Pharmaceutical applications
  • Petrochemical production
  • Marine

This stainless steel grip is less likely to experience crevice corrosion or pitting in environments with significant chloride levels. Since chloride is often present in high levels during marine work, 316 steel is preferable to galvanised (or zinc-coated) metal. Galvanised wire grips, while suitable for many commercial and industrial applications, are not used in marine applications and are not acceptable in the industries listed above.
